Food safety is something most of us take for granted, but it is incredibly crucial to our survival. Despite all the precautions that people take, there are still about 3,000 American deaths from food poisoning every year. To prevent this and other dangers like salmonella, which is transmitted to us through contact with animal fecal matter, there are ample safety standards that have been perfected over the years. Similar standards also exist for other vital areas of everyday life to ensure premium efficiency across the board.

One important set of standards is the Iso 14001 certification. ISO stands for the International Organization for Standardization. ISO 14001 deals with environmental management systems in various communities. This involves setting performance objectives in regards to three major areas: pollution prevention, continuous improvement, and compliance with the pre established standards. Once the programs to meet these goals are put into practice, additional programs are set up to consistently audit everything in order to ensure they are meeting all the necessary requirements. As of 2010, at least 223,149 organizations in 159 countries and economies had put this into effect.

Another important set of standards is the Iso 50001 certification, established on June 15, 2011. This deals with energy management. Meeting these standards requires establishing a policy for the efficient use of energy, constantly monitoring the implementation of this policy and making changes to ensure it meets the standards, and always striving to improve your results.

One last area to consider is the ISO 20000 certification. This deals with service management systems. Organizations can use this to ensure they are getting the necessary quality of service, and providers can use it to demonstrate their capability for transition, design, and delivery of their services. Providers also use this to monitor their quality of service and to constantly implement updates to ensure they meet all the standards.

The Food Safety Systems Certification was put in place to regulate manufacturers of animal products, perishable produce, products with longer shelf lives, additives, and vitamins. Similar ISO drafting standards are also established to govern other important areas of everyday life, including the ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ISO 20000 certifications.
